Headwear

Headgear, headwear, or headdress is any element of clothing which is worn on one's head, including hats, helmets, turbans and many other types. Headgear is worn for many purposes, including protection against the elements, decoration, or for religious or cultural reasons, including social conventions.

Gloves

Keeping your hands toasty is a crucial part of staying warm in the winter. If you're hitting the slopes, cross-country skiing, or even just walking around the city, you'll need a good pair of winter gloves to get you through the cold weather.

Mittens

A mitten is a cold-weather piece of clothing that you wear on your hand. Unlike gloves, which cover each finger individually, mittens cover your four fingers together, and your thumb separately.

Beanie Hats

The first beanies on record were made of wool to keep heads warm. Many beanies today are still made of wool. However, more popular fabrics include acrylic, cotton and cotton blends and fleece (polyester).

Cardinal Beanie

A hoodie, which is a hooded sweatshirt, is a variation of the crew neck sweatshirt with a hood added to it. Usually made of heavyweight cotton, it may (sometimes) be blended with spandex for stretch or (more often) polyester for durability.

Trapper hats are a similar style to the aviator, usually made of leather or wool, but more often lined inside with shearling or animal fur for added warmth.

Berets

A beret is a classic when it comes to fashion. They have chic French-style connotations, keeping them mainstream. These are soft, brimless hats that are flattering on all women, and they are often made of wool, crocheted cotton or acrylic.
